I love when you go out to lunch, and the manager comes by to ask how your lunch is, and everything is good, so you send him on his way with a thank you and a smile.

And he comes back with complimentary desserts.

This is what happened to me and my dear friend and former Radio Ink staffer, Mary, when we met for lunch at Toojay's Deli in Lake Worth yesterday. 

Yes, that's three monstrous pieces of cake: Banana Dream Cake, Carrot Cake and Chocolate Layer Cake. Mary and I dug in with gusto, and ate as much as we could of these decadent treats. YUM. My favorite, and this was a surprise, was the Banana Dream. I typically don't like banana-flavored anything, but this combo of bananas, walnuts and chocolate was amazing. 

But the really terrific part about lunch? Reconnecting with Mary, of course!

Glee

This is my new favorite addiction:

It's Glee, and it's on Wednesday nights on Fox. If you haven't seen it, PLEASE check it out. It's one of the best things on TV today. It's fun, it's full of joy and heartache. It's got really great musical numbers! What more can you ask for? I tell you, I even have Bradley hooked on it. If you don't feel like standing up and cheering at the end of the pilot episode... well. If you don't then you and I will have to have a little chat. LOL! (You can watch the pilot episode online at Fox.)

Seriously, it's a show about underdogs, and doing what you love. There are tons of catchy tunes and of course there's romance. Check it out, won't you?

Zombies!! In Austin!

I would love to see this happen in Knoxville. This actually happened in Austin, TX. On street signs all across the city. Liz, did your parents see it?? So funny and cool!

I love this quote from the article:

"No zombies have been seen in the area, and with any luck, Tuesday night’s cold front killed off any undead with ghoulish plans to invade the city."

It reminded me of the Minnow from Gilligan's Island. Not really an exact match, but hey, pretty close!

Gosh, I used to love watching that show!

Psych

It's back! It's back! And it's all-new episodes! I'm in love with the wackiness of Shawn and Gus.

If you haven't seen it, you should. It's one of the most consistently funny shows on TV. The chemistry between the two leads is awesome, and you'll love Corbin Bernson as Shawn's dad. All the characters are great. Go back and check out seasons 1 and 2 if you like what you see on Friday night. It's worth it!

Dr. Horrible: See It. Hear It. Live It.

I am VERY excited about this! If you haven't heard about it, go the the Dr. Horrible site RIGHT NOW. It's Joss Whedon's latest brain child, and it's fabulous to see work produced like this. And really, really FUNNY. Enjoy!

USA Network ROCKS

The best network on TV today has got to be USA Network. Not only do they air my second-favorite series, Psych (first favorite is still Battlestar Galactica on SciFi, second-best network on TV), but they also air greats such as Monk, Burn Notice (thank goodness someone put Bruce Campbell back on TV!), and one of my new faves, In Plain Sight.

We don't have Tivo on our main TV anymore :0( because we got a deal on twin DVRs from Dish Network. Still, I have all these shows set up to record. I am so happy that they are all starting out new episodes, just in time to keep us in quality entertainment. Especially since the Doctor Who season finale is fast approaching and BSG is not coming back for the final episodes until November, I think. I do love my TV!
