This is my (somewhat blurry) friend Karen, from work. (Sorry about the blurry, Karen!) She's learning to knit, and doing a fabulous job at it. Here she is with a scarf that I started, and she continued, just after she finished learning how to

• Read a pattern
• Purl
• Knit 2 together
• Yarn over

She is a quick learner, and such a natural! We are trying to start up a knitting club at work. It's been slow going because everyone is so busy, but it will come together sooner or later. What are y'all up to with your sticks and strings?

 

 

More Reconnecting

Here's me with my friend Carlos. I don't know why I have that look on my face. I think I was concentrating extra hard to get the self portrait right. But Carlos looks great! I've known him for about 24 years we figured. We used to work together at CRC Press, and he still works for the company (now Taylor & Francis) with my sister. He drove up from Ft. Lauderdale and we did the parks this weekend. Bonus was that it wasn't that hot!

Mom's Gardenia

I found the cutest little miniature gardenia at the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival. I had to make a mini-garden for her. Or perhaps a "Minnie" garden!

I Know, I Know...

I can't believe it's been so long since I've written. There's no good reason. I've just been lazy. And going to the parks. A lot. Here I am with my friend Ian (on the right) and Paul (on the left). I have known Ian for many years. We used to do theatre together in West Palm and Lake Worth. He and Paul were down from Seattle visiting, and of course we had to hit the parks. It was so good to see them both!
